Roles and Responsibilities

  • Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs within automobile assembly lines, focusing on cycle time reduction and waste elimination.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to production equipment, including robotics, PLCs, and automated systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects, to drive operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules and capacity plans, considering factors like material availability, labor resources, and equipment capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of production defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, improving product quality.
  • Oversee the implementation of new technologies and automation systems in the production environment, staying abreast of industry advancements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards within the production facility, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Train and mentor production staff on new processes, equipment, and safety procedures, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possess a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; a Masters degree is a plus.
  • Have at least 5-7 years of experience in production engineering within the automotive industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exhibit proficiency in using CAD software, simulation tools, and other engineering software relevant to automotive production.
  • Possess strong knowledge of automotive assembly processes, including stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly.
  • Be familiar with quality control systems and methodologies, such as Six Sigma and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Have excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and guide production teams.
  • Be proficient in English (written and spoken); knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Show a proactive and results-oriented approach, with a strong commitment to achieving production targets and deadlines.
