Job Overview:

The Principal Expediting Tech exchanges ideas and information relating to Expediting effectively. They may work autonomously within established Expediting procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal Expediting Tech proposes improvements to processes and methods within the Expediting discipline. The Principal Expediting Tech directly impacts the effectiveness of their team and related team.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Expedite suppliers efficiently and effectively to ensure timely delivery of equipment packages, materials, and associated documentation required per the Purchase Order in compliance with the Expediting procedures
  • Schedule and Conduct KOM (Kick-Off Meeting) meeting
  • Carry out Expediting visits at suppliers and prepare the Shop Expediting Report according to applicable procedures, informing the problems that may imply delays and indicate the plans to recover delays established with the supplier
  • Input consistent and timely updates in the Company system and distribute expediting reports to the Project Team and Suppliers to provide insight into the progress of the package and to flag any concerns or issues for discussion
  • Issue the 'Release Note'
  • Ensure proper custody of Expediting Reports, Release Notes, and other required documents
  • Act according to the principles of quality, HSE, and the company procedures
  • Interface with the various areas involved in the project daily
  • Engage the Inspection or Quality team whenever necessary
  • Perform other Expediting tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Associate’s Degree/Foundation (or equivalent) in relevant discipline or HSD/GED/IGCSE or 3 years of relevant experience
  • 2-8 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to plan the work on time, with compromise, and accuracy in the tasks carried out
  • Ability to interact with suppliers and clients, work professionally with people, independent of the hierarchical, professional, or social level, influencing constructively and demonstrating respect for individuality, understanding, and coexistence
  • Capacity to structure and maintain the routines of the process in accordance with the established procedures, as well as contributing to the optimization and improvement of existing procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
