Painter

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and filling cracks and holes.
• Remove old paint and varnish using scrapers, sandblasters, or chemical solvents.
• Select and mix paint colors to match specifications.
• Apply primers as needed to ensure proper adhesion of paint.
• Use brushes, rollers, or sprayers to apply paint evenly and efficiently.
• Apply multiple coats of paint to achieve the desired finish.
• Follow safety protocols to protect themselves and others during painting operations.
• Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with clients or supervisors to determine project requirements and timelines.
• Keep accurate records of materials used and time spent on each project.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in painting is preferred.
• Proven experience as a painter, either through employment or personal projects.
• Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, and coatings.
• Familiarity with painting techniques and tools, such as brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
• Understanding of color theory and the ability to match paint colors.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
