Job Description: Accountant

An Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role involves providing accurate and timely financial information to assist in decision-making processes within the organization. The Accountant will also be involved in budgeting, financial forecasting, and monitoring financial performance. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Analyze financial data and prepare financial reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
• Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries as needed.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Participate in the audit process and address any audit findings.
• Monitor financial performance and contribute to financial planning.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and controls.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting principles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Work experience as an Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant degree
• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
