Job Description

As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. Your role includes performing eye examinations, diagnosing eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses or medications, and educating patients on proper eye care. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible eye health outcomes for our patients.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and overall eye health.
  • Perform specialized tests, such as glaucoma screenings and retinal examinations.
  • Determine prescription for corrective lenses (glasses or contact lenses).
  • Diagnose and manage common eye conditions, including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
  • Detect and diagnose eye diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments for eye conditions within the scope of optometry practice.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including contact lens care, eye safety, and the importance of regular eye examinations.
  • Provide guidance on lifestyle factors that can impact eye health, such as diet and UV protection.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with medical record-keeping standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Make referrals for specialized eye care or surgical interventions when necessary.
  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience during examinations.
  • Address patient questions, concerns, and follow-up care.

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • State licensure as an Optometrist.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of optometric practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
