Job Description

An Officer – Finance Payables plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and operations of an organization. This position focuses primarily on managing and overseeing all tasks related to the payables aspect of finance. Individuals in this role are responsible for ensuring that all company expenditures are paid in a timely manner and accurately recorded in the books of accounts. The job demands a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of financial procedures and regulations. The Officer – Finance Payables works closely with other finance team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while adhering to the organization's financial policies and procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounts payable operations with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Review and process invoices and payment requests from vendors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to verify and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to payables.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations in all payable processes.
  • Prepare regular reports on payables status and financial health for management review.
  • Facilitate timely and accurate processing of employee expense reimbursements.
  • Monitor vendor accounts and ensure timely payments to maintain vendor relations.
  • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Implement and enhance processes to improve efficiency in payable operations.
  • Reconcile accounts payable ledgers to ensure they align with the general ledger.
  • Manage vendor queries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience handling accounts payable functions in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices relevant to payables.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle high volume processing.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities for handling multiple tasks.
