Job Description

The Maintenance Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of facilities by organizing and overseeing maintenance activities. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance tasks, ensuring that equipment and facilities are well-maintained and operational. The Maintenance Coordinator acts as a liaison between the maintenance team and other departments, ensuring that all maintenance needs are addressed promptly and efficiently. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills, have a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This role is crucial for minimizing downtime, improving efficiency, and supporting the operational goals of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all facility equipment.
  • Act as the communication link between maintenance staff and department heads.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during maintenance operations.
  • Review maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and service history.
  • Order and manage inventory of materials, tools, and replacement parts as needed.
  • Liaise with external service providers for specialized repairs and project management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiencies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess maintenance needs and conditions.
  • Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and management of the maintenance department budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a maintenance coordination role required.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in facility maintenance.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues proactively.
