Job Description

The role of a Logistics Supervisor is instrumental in ensuring the efficient flow of goods throughout an organization. The individual in this position is tasked with coordinating, managing, and overseeing the logistics operations which include transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities. This supervisory role requires both strategic planning and day-to-day management to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness. Logistics Supervisors must work closely with different teams including suppliers, warehouse staff, and operations managers to optimize systems and processes. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day logistics operations ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and transportation teams, ensuring adherence to policies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with suppliers to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze key logistics metrics to evaluate performance and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in all operations.
  • Lead and train logistics personnel in areas of safety and productivity enhancement.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in logistics.
  • Manage inventory tracking and control to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support order fulfillment and customer service goals.
  • Prepare reports and conduct audits to assess the accuracy of logistics records.
  • Resolve logistical issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management roles.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of logistics operations and inventory management practices.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects effectively under pressure.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
