Job Description

A Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a company's supply chain. They are responsible for overseeing the entire process of freight management, inventory control, transportation, and warehousing. Logistics Specialists work to improve efficiency by analyzing various supply chain processes, coordinating with different departments, and implementing cost-effective solutions to enhance productivity. They may also be involved in negotiating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods. This role requires excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage logistics operations, including transportation and delivery of goods.
  • Analyze and optimize supply chain processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and transportation laws for shipments.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and transport providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and logistics activities.
  • Monitor and track the status of inbound and outbound shipments in real-time.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of goods.
  • Identify and resolve logistics issues, ensuring timely delivery and quality service.
  • Develop and implement innovative logistics solutions to enhance service levels.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance to management.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Utilize logistics software and tools to improve supply chain visibility and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools, including transportation management systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
