Job Description

A Logistics Specialist is a critical role within the supply chain and logistics industry, responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods and materials. This position demands expertise in logistics management, including inventory control, delivery coordination, and transportation management. A Logistics Specialist works closely with other departments, such as procurement and customer service, to streamline operations and meet company objectives. They are tasked with optimizing logistics processes to reduce costs and improve delivery timelines, enhancing overall operational productivity. A strong ability to analyze and solve logistical challenges is essential, along with excellent communication skills to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the entire logistics operations for goods movement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and transportation companies effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze logistical metrics to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports regarding logistics operations and present to management.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international logistics regulations and standards.
  • Handle issues related to shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies diligently.
  • Evaluate and select third-party logistics providers for partnerships.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock management systems.
  • Conduct regular audits of logistics processes to identify improvement areas.
  • Train and support junior logistics staff to enhance departmental performance.
  • Coordinate with finance department for logistics budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles.
  • Proficient understanding of logistics software and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret logistics data accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various teams.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple logistics projects simultaneously.
