The Junior Salesman for Freight Forwarding is an entry-level role pivotal in supporting the sales team in driving business growth for logistics and shipping solutions. This position is ideal for those enthusiastic about developing careers in sales and supply chain management. The successful candidate will assist in managing client accounts, nurturing new leads, and ensuring customer satisfaction, contributing to the overall success of the freight forwarding operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A Junior Salesman in this industry should be motivated to learn, eager to develop relationships in the industry, and keen on understanding various logistics services.


Responsibilities

  • Assist senior sales team members in handling customer inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Participate in developing sales strategies to attract new clients and expand market reach.
  • Maintain and update client databases with accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to meet clients’ freight forwarding needs efficiently.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to potential and existing clients.
  • Respond to RFQs (Request for Quotations) and ensure timely follow-up with clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
  • Identify lucrative business opportunities and generate new sales leads for the company.
  • Assist in negotiating freight forwarding rates and terms of service with clients.
  • Provide clients with regular updates on shipment status and resolve any service issues.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams in promotions and sales events for freight services.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets by delivering superior sales performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a similar field preferred.
  • Previous experience in sales or customer service is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for client interactions.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping services is beneficial.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to manage customer accounts.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software for sales tasks.
