Job Description

An Inventory Controller plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining a company's inventory levels to ensure that there is sufficient supply to meet demand without overstocking. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage and organize large volumes of data. As an Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, coordinating the purchasing and stock replenishment processes, and ensuring accurate inventory records. This position involves collaboration with various departments including procurement, sales, and logistics to maintain optimal inventory levels. You will also be responsible for conducting regular audits to verify stock quantities, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and recommending process improvements to enhance inventory management efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department for timely reordering of stock items.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify physical stock against inventory records.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies found during inventory audits and assessments.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with logistics to improve stock movement and minimize stockouts and overstocking.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and forecast future inventory needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the system continuously.
  • Prepare detailed inventory reports for management and stakeholders regularly.
  • Work closely with the sales team to anticipate changes in demand and adjust stock accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations regarding inventory management.
  • Advise management on opportunities for inventory optimization and cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role for minimum of two years.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast and report inventory trends.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Excel efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in tracking inventory data.
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with different departments.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inventory-related issues effectively.
