Job Description

The Head of Supply Chain is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain operations within an organization. This role involves strategizing, planning, coordinating, and managing all logistics and supply chain processes to ensure that the company's supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and meets the needs of the business. The Head of Supply Chain works closely with various departments, including procurement, production, logistics, and warehouse management, to ensure smooth operations and support the company's objectives. This role requires a strong analytical mind, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. As a senior member of the management team, the Head of Supply Chain also plays a critical role in shaping strategic decisions related to supply chain management.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials.
  • Coordinate with production teams to optimize inventory levels and meet production schedules.
  • Lead logistics planning and distribution strategies to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with supply chain regulations and industry standards at all times.
  • Analyze supply chain data and performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive initiatives to improve supply chain sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and oversee fiscal operations effectively.
  • Collaborate with IT to implement supply chain technology solutions that improve efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals to foster professional development.
  • Report to senior management regularly on supply chain efficiency and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management or logistics.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing multi-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage vendor contracts and relationships.
