Job Description

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of employees in the workplace, as well as compliance with environmental and safety regulations. As an HSE Officer, you will be tasked with developing, implementing, and enforcing policies to prevent accidents and injuries, as well as mitigate environmental impacts of operations. This position requires a detail-oriented person with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You need to be knowledgeable about the latest legal regulations and best practices in workplace safety and environmental protection. This role is vital to fostering a safe, productive work environment where employees feel secure and operations run smoothly, contributing significantly to the organization's overall success.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs to enhance employee safety awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation and regulations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with management to integrate safe practices into daily operations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on health and safety performance and issues.
  • Assist in emergency response planning and management during incidents.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE management systems regularly.
  • Work with external agencies during audits and inspections for compliance checks.
  • Promote a positive safety culture within the organization through active engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar HSE role within an industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and safety management standards.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively conducting training and safety meetings.
  • Ability to analyze complex safety issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software tools.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
