As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to lead and oversee our housekeeping team.
The Role: Housekeeping Manager
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for ensuring SmartStay’s apartments are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and are fully stocked as per SmartStay standards. This role oversees the entire housekeeping operation, manages staff performance, enforces SOPs, and works closely with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Responsibilities
Independently manage housekeeping operations with minimal supervision, ensuring smooth operations under pressure.
Plan and analyze daily allocations to maximize team productivity and efficiency.
Monitor cleaning schedules to ensure apartments are guest-ready on time.
Supervise and coordinate the housekeeping team to deliver consistently high standards.
Take ownership of team performance, addressing underperformance, enforcing discipline, and maintaining morale.
Conduct daily post-cleaning inspections to uphold SmartStay’s 5-star holiday home standards.
Escalate unresolved issues promptly and maintain transparent communication with leadership.
Resolve recurring operational issues, implement process improvements, and introduce training or supplier solutions.
Coordinate with Engineering for PPM, repairs, and deep cleaning.
Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals, enforcing health & safety compliance.
Train staff on SmartStay SOPs, chemical safety, stain removal, and inventory procedures, ensuring full compliance.
Support recruitment and lead onboarding of new housekeeping staff.
Maintain accurate logging of all tasks in Breezeway and ensure accountability across the team.
Continuously update and improve SmartStay SOPs to enhance guest experience and operational standards.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, complaints, or escalations.
Collaborate with Guest Relations to manage glitches, guest feedback, and AirCover claims.
Oversee linen, consumables, and amenity stock across the warehouse and apartments.
Work with Storekeeper and Finance to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure timely reorders.
Source and evaluate suppliers for quality and cost-efficient operations.
Approve and track housekeeping purchases in line with budget controls.
Submit weekly housekeeping reports covering inspections, deep cleans, inventory, and staff performance.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a managerial housekeeping role within a hospitality, hotel, or holiday home environment.
A valid UAE driving license is required.
Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to train and manage a team effectively.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
Familiarity with software like Breezeway, monday.com, Hostaway is a plus.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, as per operational requirements.
Must be available to start immediately.
