Job Description

The Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of an organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. The Finance Assistant works closely with the finance team to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and assist in the preparation of financial statements. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and a good understanding of financial systems and principles.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across financial systems.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Reconcile and analyze bank statements to ensure alignment with company records.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all financial obligations are met promptly.
  • Prepare and submit weekly or monthly reports on financial status and cash flow.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports for review.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for timely collection and reporting of financial information.
  • Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies at all levels.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for financial system and software issues.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit queries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is highly beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and financial software.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for this position.
