About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Surgical Critical Care (Trauma) to join a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. This role involves providing advanced critical care for patients with severe trauma, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes through surgical interventions and intensive care management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead trauma resuscitation and surgical interventions for critically injured patients.
  • Perform complex emergency surgeries, including damage control procedures, vascular repairs, and abdominal trauma management.
  • Oversee post-operative critical care, including ventilator management, hemodynamic stabilization, and infection control.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, and ICU specialists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Ensure strict adherence to patient safety protocols, evidence-based trauma care guidelines, and ICU best practices.
  • Conduct clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and medical education programs within the trauma surgery department.

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Board certification in General Surgery or Surgical Critical Care
  • Fellowship training in Trauma Surgery or Surgical Critical Care

Experience

  • Minimum 5-10 years of post-certification experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or tertiary ICU
  • Expertise in damage control surgery, ventilator management, and advanced trauma life support (ATLS)
  • Strong understanding of critical care monitoring, sepsis management, and surgical complications
