Job Description

A Construction Project Manager is crucial to the success of any construction project. This role involves planning, coordinating, overseeing, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The manager acts as a liaison between clients, architects, engineers, and contractors, maintaining clear communication to avoid misunderstandings that could delay a project. The construction industry demands exceptional organizational and decision-making skills, and a project manager must balance these demands while adhering to safety regulations and quality standards. This role also involves managing project financials, from initial budgeting to final cost projections, while also anticipating and mitigating risks and challenges. A successful Construction Project Manager leads their team by example, demonstrating both leadership and collaborative engagement to foster a productive and harmonious worksite.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Coordinate and supervise construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Liaise with clients to determine project requirements and specifications.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all projects comply with legal guidelines and safety standards.
  • Hire and manage subcontractors and staff onsite effectively and efficiently.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure project specifications are met.
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status regularly.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Monitor and manage risks to avoid project delays or financial losses.
  • Ensure quality assurance throughout the construction process and final inspection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field required.
  • Proven experience as a construction project manager or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills needed.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities are essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
