Job Description

The Chief Supervisor of Clearing & Settlement plays a crucial role in the financial services industry by ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of transactions between firms. This key leadership position involves supervising a team responsible for clearing trades and settlements, alongside monitoring systems that facilitate these processes. As a Chief Supervisor, you will need to ensure compliance with industry regulations and implement best practices for risk management. Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the daily clearing and settlement operations to ensure timely execution.
  • Implement strategies to enhance clearing and settlement processes in line with industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed operation manuals for clearing and settlement procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements in settlement processes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve settlement discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide guidance and support to the settlement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on market changes and trends.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with clearing and settlement operations effectively.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology systems supporting settlements.
  • Review and analyze settlement reports, driving improvements in accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a close relationship with financial exchanges and clearinghouses for operational updates.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to senior management on clearing and settlement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in clearing and settlement operations within the financial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing financial transactions and settlements.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with clearing house systems and settlement technology platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
