Job Description

A Chemical Engineer plays a crucial role in designing and optimizing processes and systems for the production of chemicals, fuel, drugs, food, and many other products. This position involves applying the principles of chemistry, physics, and engineering to improve the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of chemical processes. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes and manufacturing systems.
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct tests and monitor the performance of processes throughout production.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations by evaluating processes.
  • Collaborate with chemists, mechanical engineers, and other professionals in the field.
  • Coordinate and supervise the installation and operation of chemical plants and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot problems with manufacturing processes and implement effective solutions.
  • Prepare operational reports and analyze data to recommend process improvements.
  • Scale up processes from the laboratory level to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Oversee and manage the logistics and supply chain for chemical products.
  • Assist in the development of cost estimates and project budgets.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in process engineering techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and process equipment.
  • Proven ability to work within cross-functional teams effectively and collaboratively.
  • Experience with process simulation software like Aspen Plus or ChemCAD would be beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to safety and environmental issues.
  • Strong communication skills to relay technical information clearly and effectively.
