A Cargo Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day logistics and operations of cargo movements. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for all cargo movements.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with customs regulations and legal standards.
  • Assist in optimizing logistic routes to improve shipment efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Engage with warehouse staff to streamline the loading and unloading process.
  • Communicate with clients to provide shipment status updates and relay any issues.
  • Handle immediate operational problems and emergencies with swift, effective actions.
  • Maintain and update logistics tracking databases to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Develop and implement strategies for process improvements in cargo operations.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure that procedures adhere to standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cargo operations or supply chain management is required.
  • Strong understanding of shipping regulations and international trade practices.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in logistics software and tools for managing cargo operations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle operational challenges efficiently.
