Job Purpose

About the role:

The Senior Vice President - Emirates Engineering Maintenance Centre (EEMC) is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and guidance to the Emirates Engineering Maintenance Centre (EEMC) in an efficient, productive, safe and cost-effective manner. The job holder has overall accountability for ensuring compliance and enforcement of the highest qualitative and quantitative regulatory standards to meet and deliver the Companys business objectives. The job holder is responsible for directing a safe and effective organisation by ensuring the highest levels of compliance to safety and regulatory practices and procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for the development, execution and monitoring of budgeted plans with clearly defined KPIs, risk registers and performance measurements. Establish and implement financial controls, checks and balances to ensure all costs and resources associated with engine maintenance/overhaul and component repair/overhaul are optimally managed. Develop future budget needs for manpower, capital investment and aircraft modifications in line with airline growth and induction of new aircraft.
  • Formulate and implement plans for effective strategic growth of EEMC by increasing capacity of Emirates engine overhaul to 100% and increasing volumes of Shop Visits and Quick Turn Shop Visits in accordance with capacity growth projections, in order to achieve the revenue targets set by the executive management, while working very closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)/suppliers to ensure optimal Shop Turnaround Times (TATs).
  • Responsible for adherence to quality standards and assurance that each component is repaired/overhauled and tested in accordance with approved procedures of its manufacturers and meets Regulatory airworthiness standards.
  • Support a high-performing culture, where employees are motivated, committed, capable and adequately resourced to achieve performance objectives in accordance with company objectives and values.
  • Develop and evolve an approval system that will support business needs and demand requirements, through monitoring and evaluation of operational needs of components and ensure satisfactory and adequate component support, for scheduled and unscheduled requirements.
  • Active participation in contracting at the parent assembly level and Engine Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) repair agreements and costs with Aircraft Procurement and Engineering Technical Services. In liaison with Engineering Support Service departments, guide decisions on Engine/Component service bulletins not included in the approved Power by the hour (PBH) and/or any agreements, contracts and negotiate with service provider/OEMS accordingly.
  • In conjunction with Aircraft Procurement and other internal departments as required, negotiate with vendors, suppliers, OEMs and service providers on any issues related to performance, repair and warranty and work scope production, repair/planning. Responsible for overall negotiation of off load agreements with manufacturers to address provisioning for progressive billing, fixed pricing for routine activities and enhanced material support terms.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the requirements:

  • Degree in aeronautical / mechanical engineering degree or aircraft maintenance Engineers License.
  • Preferably with a post graduate business qualification.
  • 15 years experience in Engineering Overhaul at a senior level.
  • In-depth knowledge & expertise related to Business Development and proven ability to formulate business plans and present proposals that meet Commercial targets.
  • Experience in Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance, of which will have been at a management level in Support or operational areas.
  • Proven track record of leading change management.
  • Proven track record in leading a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of managing in a diverse multicultural environment
