Auto Mechanic (225-711)

As an Auto Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of various vehicles. Your primary responsibility will be to diagnose, repair, and maintain automobiles, delivering high-quality workmanship while providing excellent customer service. Working closely with a team of professionals, you will assess mechanical issues and resolve them efficiently, contributing to the success and reputation of the automotive service department. An Auto Mechanic must stay up to date with the latest automotive technology and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Conduct diagnostic tests using manual tools and computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Identify mechanical problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Test parts and systems to ensure proper function following repairs.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on both gas and diesel-powered vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards at all times.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with customers about vehicle issues and repairs.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and clear records of all work completed on each vehicle.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry techniques and technologies in auto repair.
• Inspect vehicle mechanical components and systems to identify issues accurately.
• Give accurate estimates of the time and cost needed for repairs.
• Work flexibly as part of a team to achieve company goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an auto mechanic and solid understanding of automotive components.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• ASE certification or other equivalent certifications are highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational or technical program is a plus.
