Job Description

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the dining establishment. Working closely with the General Manager, you will oversee daily restaurant activities, manage staff, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Your leadership skills will be essential in coaching team members to perform at their best and in ensuring that guests receive excellent service. Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in daily operations and supervise restaurant staff.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service.
  • Manage team scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and serving staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any concerns or complaints efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory control and order supplies to ensure stock availability.
  • Implement health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing training opportunities for existing staff.
  • Monitor financial performance and assist in budget preparation and cost control.
  • Keep the restaurant clean and tidy, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Support marketing and promotional activities to boost restaurant sales.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, feedback, and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an assistant manager in a restaurant or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Outstanding communication skills for dealings with staff and customers.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and multitask effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of restaurant management software and POS systems.
  • Understanding of restaurant budgeting, financial management, and cost control.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
