Job Description

The Air Freight Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating air freight logistics ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage all aspects of air freight shipments, including documentation, scheduling, tracking, and communication with key stakeholders. The Air Freight Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards, optimizing logistics operations, and providing exceptional customer service. This role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong collaborative approach to work with multiple teams to optimize the freight process.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all inbound and outbound air freight shipments effectively.
  • Ensure all shipment documentation adheres to international shipping regulations.
  • Liaise with freight carriers, shippers, and consignees to ensure shipment accuracy.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or inaccuracies in shipments.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure cost-effective shipping solutions.
  • Prepare and file claims for lost or damaged freight as necessary.
  • Conduct regular audits of freight invoices to ensure accurate billing.
  • Work closely with the logistics team to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Maintain detailed shipment records for compliance and process improvement.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries promptly.
  • Collaborate with customs authorities to ensure smooth cargo clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to handle complex logistics.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with clients and team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
