Job Description

The role of an Admissions Manager in the Health Care sector is pivotal in ensuring seamless patient admissions processes and maintaining a high standard of front-line patient services. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and streamline admission procedures efficiently. As an Admissions Manager, you will act as a liaison between the patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff, ensuring that the admissions process is responsive and patient-centered. Your goal will be to optimize the flow of patients through the admissions process, improve patient satisfaction, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. You will also be responsible for training and supervising admissions staff and implementing policies and procedures to enhance overall efficiency and quality of services.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the admissions department to ensure efficiency.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to streamline processes.
  • Develop and implement admissions policies and procedures for effective patient services.
  • Ensure all admissions comply with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise admissions staff to enhance team performance.
  • Handle escalated issues and complaints from patients regarding admissions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all admissions transactions and patient information.
  • Analyze admissions data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the finance department on billing and insurance-related admissions issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and external agencies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with industry changes.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained during all admissions interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years experience in healthcare admissions or a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Proficiency with healthcare management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Problem-solving skills with a focus on improving patient admission processes.
