Job Description

The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of an organization to ensure financial health and compliance with relevant laws and guidelines. This position requires an analytical mind capable of strategic thinking and detailed attention to the intricacies of financial planning, analysis, and reporting. The Financial Controller will collaborate with various departments to align with the company's financial objectives by implementing robust financial strategies, managing risks, and maintaining internal control measures. Apart from regular financial reporting, the role also involves forecasting, auditing, and budget management, all essential for guiding the organization's fiscal direction and protecting its financial assets. This role requires excellent leadership skills as the Financial Controller often supervises a team, ensuring their efficient operation and service delivery to meet company objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the organization.
  • Ensure all financial reporting complies with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and manage internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial integrity.
  • Lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and accounting teams.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for management.
  • Develop strategies to manage financial risks, including fluctuating interest rates and currency exchange.
  • Supervise the finance department to ensure efficient financial operation and resource use.
  • Manage corporate tax planning and compliance to minimize the organization's tax burden.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial management with the company's objectives.
  • Evaluate and implement financial software systems to enhance financial data management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for decision-making.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities to finance team members to ensure continuous growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in financial management or controllership.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory financial reporting and tax regulations is necessary.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools such as ERP systems and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills within a finance department.
