Job Description

An accountant plays a crucial role within the financial infrastructure of an organization. This job is vital for maintaining the fiscal health and transparency of the company's operations. Accountants are responsible for preparing and examining financial records, ensuring accuracy, and ensuring that taxes are paid properly and on time. They prepare financial reports to assess a company’s financial position, budget, and performance, aiding in strategic planning and decision-making processes. Accountants are also tasked with identifying areas for financial improvement and ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and principles.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to management for decision-making.
  • Oversee and manage the general ledger accounting functions regularly.
  • Perform detailed and regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Analyze financial discrepancies and suggest effective resolutions without delay.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of corporate tax returns.
  • Implement and maintain internal accounting controls and procedures within the organization.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary information for audits.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and continuously monitor expenditure and income outcomes.
  • Develop and support financial strategies aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Review and recommend changes to accounting systems or procedures as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and best practices.
  • Provide financial advice and information to management when necessary or requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in an accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for presenting financial information.
