Job Description

An Account Officer plays a critical role in managing a company’s financial health by ensuring accurate bookkeeping, finance management, and financial reporting. As a point of contact between the company and its clients, the Account Officer maintains accounts and ensures proper reconciliation, keeping the financial records current and precise. This position demands a person with acute attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both the internal accounting team and external clients. The successful candidate will manage accounting tasks, contribute to financial data analysis, and help develop strategies to improve organizational financial procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of company financial transactions.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable effectively and timely.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Reconcile account discrepancies and resolve issues with bank accounts and suppliers.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing detailed financial documentation.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and forecast financial needs.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial documents like invoices, purchase orders, and VAT/Tax Documents submissions to line manager.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve financial performance.
  • Communicate with clients regarding financial queries and assist in problem resolution.
  • Implement new accounting procedures and policies to enhance efficiency.
  • Liaise with the external auditors and provide necessary information for audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven work experience as an Account Officer or similar role in a related sector.
  • Strong software skills, particularly in MS Office and accounting software Tali /QuickBooks applications.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interactions.
