Job Description

As a Senior Welder, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding projects, supervising welding activities, and ensuring the adherence to safety standards and industry best practices. Your advanced welding skills, leadership abilities, and attention to detail will play a crucial role in delivering accurate and durable welds for various projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform welding tasks using various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding, on a variety of materials.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, specifications, and project instructions.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of welded components by conducting thorough inspections and tests.
  • Identify and rectify any welding defects or irregularities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior welders and apprentices.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of the welding team to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating welding equipment.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the welding team and enforce safety practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to plan and execute welding tasks.
  • Ensure timely completion of welding projects according to project schedules.
  • Select appropriate welding materials and components based on project requirements.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of welding materials to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including project details, welding parameters, and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective measures to achieve desired results.
  • Address any challenges or obstacles that arise during the welding process.
  • Stay updated on welding techniques, technologies, and industry trends to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Propose process improvements to optimize welding efficiency and quality.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certification in Welding is required.
  • Proven experience as a Welder with a strong track record of accurate and high-quality welding work.
  • Advanced skills in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to guide and train junior welders.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting welding blueprints and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address welding defects effectively.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and environments.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and project stakeholders.
  • Ethical conduct and commitment to safety in all welding activities.
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and timelines.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
