Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor & Forklift Operator is a crucial role that combines leadership skills with hands-on operational capabilities. This role is responsible for overseeing the receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations of the company. The right candidate must ensure efficient warehouse operations while managing a team of warehouse staff and maintaining adherence to safety and compliance standards. Additionally, the individual will operate forklifts to move goods, checking for accuracy and quality, ensuring that all inventory systems are up-to-date. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to inspire and lead a team. Knowledge of warehouse software programs is also vital to maintain efficient processes and workflow.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations within the facility.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, including regular counts and reconciliation.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate performance of warehouse staff effectively.
  • Ensure all warehouse operations adhere to safety and compliance regulations.
  • Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport goods safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and maintain documentation of all warehouse activities and workflow.
  • Manage budgetary controls and constantly strive to reduce costs where feasible.
  • Implement improvements to warehouse layout and processes to enhance logistics.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless order fulfillment processes.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and equipment checks to prevent workplace hazards.
  • Lead team meetings to communicate expectations and align on operational goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar managerial role.
  • Valid forklift operator certification and significant experience with forklift operations.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to streamline warehouse processes.
  • Familiarity with warehouse software programs and logistics management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for team collaboration.
