Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager is a highly critical position within any organization, tasked with overseeing and managing the company’s overall supply chain and logistics strategy to maximize process efficiency and productivity. This role requires a resourceful professional who can harmonize activities to ensure smooth, cost-effective operations. The Supply Chain Manager plays a vital role in developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and distributors, thereby contributing to the growth and success of the company. As a pivotal link between all supply chain facets, the manager must ensure that goods and services are provided on time, ultimately satisfying customer needs effectively. The position demands not just strategic oversight but also the ability to solve complex logistics problems and implement innovative supply chain solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic supply chain management processes and goals.
  • Coordinate and manage the activities of the supply chain operations department.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to establish strong relationships and negotiate contracts.
  • Monitor logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
  • Analyze data from shipping and receiving processes to find bottlenecks and implement improvements.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, order cycles, and safekeeping procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards within the supply chain sector.
  • Liaise closely with the production team to align supply chain activities with production schedules.
  • Review and improve supply chain procedures, assessing performance and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Prepare reports and provide information to management about supply chain performance metrics.
  • Hire, train, and manage supply chain staff ensuring optimal team performance and growth.
  • Utilize digital technologies and software solutions to optimize supply chain processes and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain management or logistics roles.
  • Proven experience in coordinating and managing supply chain strategies and operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics software, and management principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large data sets for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
