Job Description

The Staff Nurse at our Pediatric Clinic provides essential healthcare services for children under the supervision of a healthcare management team. This vital role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care given to pediatric patients in partnership with their families. The Staff Nurse acts as a liaison for communication among healthcare providers, ensuring the continuity of care. This position requires a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who can help provide a healing and nurturing environment for young patients. Meeting both medical and emotional needs, the Staff Nurse is expected to contribute to a cooperative and effective team environment, emphasizing patient safety, quality care, and family involvement. The role requires competencies in pediatric nursing standards, infection control protocols, medication administration, and patient care documentation.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients’ health status and medical needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and document accordingly.
  • Educate and guide parents and guardians about the care and medical needs of their children.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized care plans for patients.
  • Monitor and record patient vitals, symptoms, and progress regularly during each shift.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to parents and patients during stressful times.
  • Adhere strictly to established protocols for infection control and patient safety measures.
  • Assist in minor medical procedures and ensure children’s comfort and cooperation.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and prepare detailed nursing reports for each patient.
  • Participate in continuous education to advance skills and knowledge in pediatric care.
  • Facilitate communication between family members and healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure all clinical equipment is properly sanitized and functioning correctly.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required.
  • At least one year of experience working in a pediatric healthcare setting desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in pediatric assessment skills and medication administration techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with young patients and their families.
  • Ability to undertake a physically demanding job with long periods of standing.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to pediatric healthcare delivery.
