- Monitors and QC the work of petrophysical consultants to ensure the accuracy and clarity of the study results and adherence to the agreed SOW and contract.
- Prepare and quality controls the preparation of reports and liaise with other team members to integrate petrophysical data and study results into teamwork.
- Contribute to team decisions on well completion, casing depths, cementation quality and tubular goods for anticipated surveys including corrosion.
- Support definition of well proposals and logging/testing operations. Select the most appropriate logging tool string configuration and acquisition sequence to guarantee representative and accurate data Identifies specific recording modes, recording speed and resolutions to meet objectives. Identifies intervals/depth for extended or special measurements (e. g. MDT points) or well testing.
- Liaise with suppliers of petrophysical software, staying up to date with the latest software developments and new technologies which are of potential value to the Unit and to attend conferences, seminars and to review technical periodicals.
- Contribute to regular management reports such as the weekly highlights, weekly action points, daily well drilling reports, etc.
- Support all cased hole logging acquisition, planning and interpretation. Ensure data quality and way forward to support reservoir team for RMP and FSOPR.
- Recommend the acquisition of new software and hardware related to petrophysics. Participate in the preparation of justifications for these acquisitions.
- Ensure the receipt, QC, calibration and updating of corporate and exploration databases with petrophysical data received from service providers, Group Companies, SPC companies new Joint Ventures and other third parties.
- Ensure that all petrophysical studies are carried out in compliance with ADNOC Modelling guidelines.
- Coordinates & supervises the petrophysical data acquisition activities within the company.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2)
- Ensures the maintenance of high standards of logging data quality and the implementation of safe & cost-effective logging operation.
- Ensure proper logging data handling, Log Quality Control (LQC) & logging data archiving.
- Interact and work as part of a multi-discipline subsurface team, in an environment where geophysical, stratigraphic, petrologic, petrophysical, Geomechanical, engineering and production data are combined to produce integrated products and enhanced reservoir understanding.
- Direct and support the Drilling Operations in field development well planning, operations support and data acquisition strategy for new wells.
- Provide input to petrophysical issues in Reservoir and Base Management, playing a key role in integrating core, log and production data to support reservoir and overburden description/ prediction, completion and/or frac design, and production surveillance.
- Provide petrophysical support to New Well Delivery, Base Management and Reservoir Management teams, including well planning and execution, log data acquisition and interpretation, surveillance planning and execution, reservoir and overburden description, core analysis and seismic rock properties.
- Witness selected logging operations to assure they are carried out according to best practice in terms of both safety and quality.
- Ensure all cement bond log interpretations meet ADNOC standard requirements.
- Provide petrophysical advice for well completions, including input to the selection of perforation intervals.
- Recommend optimum MWD/LWD tool suites to allow cost effective landing and steering of horizontal wells. Build or at a minimum provide petrophysical input for forward models of the well trajectory.
- Maintain/enhance detailed overburden description and Geomechanical model for trajectory planning.
- Provide advice on log or core data acquisition and analyses for diagnosis of wellbore instability problems and reduction of reservoir uncertainties.
- Act as Lead PP in prescribing and undertaking field studies in support of reservoir description & characterization, for static and dynamic reservoir model builds, and NWD prospect generation.
