Job Description

As a Senior HVAC Technician, the successful candidate will be an integral part of our facilities management team, leveraging extensive knowledge and experience to oversee and execute the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires a candidate who is adept at diagnosing complex system issues, implementing effective solutions, and optimizing the performance of HVAC systems to ensure comfort and safety in both residential and commercial settings. The Senior HVAC Technician will also play a critical role in mentoring junior technicians, guiding them through technical challenges and promoting a culture of safety and efficiency. Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools and software is essential, as is a commitment to continuing education to stay abreast of the latest industry standards and technologies. This position demands exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of junior HVAC technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
• Design and implement preventive maintenance procedures for HVAC systems to enhance longevity.
• Diagnose complex HVAC system issues and propose effective repair solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing HVAC systems.
• Interact with clients to understand their HVAC needs and provide tailored recommendations.
• Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities and system performances for management review.
• Keep up with advancements in HVAC technologies and recommend system upgrades when necessary.
• Maintain an inventory of HVAC tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring availability for repairs.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on safety protocols and new technologies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in HVAC preferred.
• Minimum of five years experience in HVAC system installation and maintenance.
• EPA Certification required; additional professional licenses considered a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and design techniques necessary.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and training junior technicians efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex issues quickly.
• Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills required.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and HVAC-specific software applications.
• Ability to work under extreme weather conditions while performing outdoor repairs.
• Willingness to travel to remote job sites and flexibility to work various shifts.
