Senior Engineer : Store Interface Unit

Role Purpose :

The candidate shall have strong knowledge in the field of Store Interface Systems, including understanding the system concept design and detailed design. The candidate will be responsible for designing, evaluating, testing, simulating, and analyzing various store interface components. Additionally, the candidate should be able to lead a team of engineers and possess strong management and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Contribute to the conceptual design and development of Store Interface Unit.
  • Perform tests, measurements, simulations, and analysis of store interface systems using various simulation tools and hardware to evaluate performance and identify issues.
  • Collaborate in design reviews, system requirements specifications, and design documentation for store interface systems.
  • Document design descriptions, specifications, acceptance test procedures, and reports related to store interface systems.
  • Conduct research and stay updated with the latest advancements in store interface technologies.
  • Participate in testing, including flight tests, lab tests, and factory acceptance tests planned for the store interface unit.
  • Attend project meetings and actively contribute by providing insights, updates, and presenting assigned tasks with clear and concise explanations to the team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety guidelines.
  • Lead the review process of related engineering documentation.
  • Contribute in project planning and budgeting
  • Mentoring and training of junior technical personnel
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Communication skills with technical and non-technical personnel, as well as service providers
  • Technical documentation writing with attention to details
  • Proactive and have “can-do” mindset
  • Exposure to best practices, engineering standards and development methodologies applicable in the defence industry.
  • Understand system engineering processes (Requirements, analysis, design, integration, verification, certification and configuration management.)
  • Systematic fault finding and problem solving at subsystem and system level

The candidate shall have basic understanding and knowledge on some or all of the followings:

  • Coding skills in languages such as C, C++, Python, or similar, including the ability to write efficient, maintainable, and optimized code for embedded systems and application-level software
  • Firmware design and development for embedded systems.
  • PCB design, including layout design, component selection, signal integrity, power distribution, design for manufacturability, thermal management, and compliance with industry standards, while ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Experience

  • Minimum: 6 year experience
  • Preferred: 8 year experience

Knowledge/Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s/Master/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
