Job Description

A Sales Engineer is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with sales skills to provide both product knowledge and solution-based strategies to clients. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding complex technical products and services and effectively communicating their benefits to potential customers. This role requires a blend of sales acumen, engineering knowledge, and customer service skills to help drive product sales, tackle client challenges, and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs. You will work closely with the sales, marketing, and engineering teams to align on product specifications, promotions, and enhancements. Your ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable plans will be crucial to achieving sales targets and ensuring customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations that eloquently communicate product features and advantages.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and provide technical insights.
  • Identify and qualify sales opportunities to facilitate demand generation and conversion strategies.
  • Engage with clients to evaluate their business, technical, and functional requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining services to clients and prospects.
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements to offer tailored product or service solutions.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by providing support and detailed technical knowledge.
  • Articulate the company's value proposition and demonstrate technology via web presentations or in-person meetings.
  • Contribute to sales forecasting and strategic account planning with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assist in researching and analyzing market trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Support the sales team in preparing efficient proposals and detailed bid documents.
  • Curate comprehensive sales reports and provide feedback to product development teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field required.
  • Proven experience in sales engineering or technical support roles is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Ability to explain complex technical information in easily understandable terms.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and the ability to learn new technologies swiftly.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients and stakeholders as required.
