In the Field Service Representative (FSR) role, the individual is responsible for installing and servicing Siemens Energy, Dresser, and non-OEM reciprocating compressors and auxiliary equipment globally. Acting as a vital intermediary, the FSR liaises between customers and the company, collaborating with management, sales, and technical support to ensure service integrity, while focusing on reciprocating compressors and being accountable for all mechanical aspects during equipment installation and overhaul during service outages.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Perform mechanical installation and overhaul of reciprocating compressor packages and related equipment, ensuring adherence to OEM specifications and high-quality standards.
- Supervise and guide teams for the installation and overhaul of compressors, covering both new installations and service requirements.
- Verify OEM instructions, ensure proper alignment and levelness, interpret P&ID and dimensional drawings, and conduct Root Cause Analysis when necessary.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, communicate progress and schedule to clients, and provide spare part recommendations.
- Maintain a Zero-harm safety culture, comply with all EHS policies, and work effectively under challenging conditions, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel extensively (up to 60 days), domestically and internationally, with the physical ability to perform tasks in demanding environments and valid documentation for international assignments.
What You Bring
- High School/GED diploma or Engineering degree with 5-7 years of direct experience in overhauling reciprocating compressor packages and related equipment.
- Expertise in precision measurement techniques and proficiency in standard office software and portal-based systems for reporting.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card, passport, and complete offshore survival and firefighting courses as required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, capable of handling challenging discussions with customers to protect company interests.
- Basic commercial knowledge to understand contract work and identify opportunities for additional funding, with a willingness to travel extensively.
- Preferred qualifications include Siemens and Dresser Rand product training, commissioning experience, knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, proficiency in English as a second language, and client-facing or sales experience.
