Project Estimation Engineer

The Estimation Engineer is responsible for analyzing project requirements and creating accurate cost estimates. They review project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing. They collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies. The Estimation Engineer also identifies value engineering and cost-saving opportunities, preparing detailed proposals and bid documents. They play a vital role in successfully acquiring new projects and achieving profitability targets.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project scope, drawings, and specifications to determine accurate material, labor, and equipment requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand project constraints and contractual requirements.
• Conduct detailed price analysis of materials, subcontractor quotes, and equipment rentals.
• Identify and propose value engineering options to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Prepare and submit accurate and competitive bids and proposals within specified deadlines.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers to provide cost-related support during the project lifecycle.
• Stay updated with industry trends, material costs, and market conditions to ensure accurate estimating.
• Review and validate contract specifications and project requirements to ensure compliance.
• Continuously improve estimation processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as an Estimation Engineer in the construction industry.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and tools.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
