Job Description

The Project Coordinator - Civil is a crucial part of any civil engineering team, responsible for ensuring that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as the coordinator will liaise between various stakeholders, including clients, engineers, contractors, and suppliers. The Project Coordinator will help streamline operations and support the project manager by monitoring construction progress, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining project documentation. A strong understanding of civil engineering principles and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this position, as is the ability to adapt to changing project scopes and demands.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of civil engineering projects to ensure seamless progress.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members about project updates.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to planned timelines and budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and project documentation.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and services required for project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
  • Identify potential issues or delays and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.
  • Support project managers in preparing project proposals and developing project plans.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate various project aspects.
  • Review project specifications and ensure that they are being met consistently.
  • Facilitate project meetings and regularly update stakeholders on project developments.
  • Assist in resolving any on-site conflicts to maintain a productive working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a project coordination role within civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and client interaction.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work under tight deadlines.
