Job Description

The MIS and Inventory Management role is a vital position within any organization, focusing on the efficient and effective use of information systems and inventory management to support organizational operations. The role involves monitoring and managing inventory levels, tracking orders and deliveries, and overseeing the information systems that facilitate these operations. The candidate will work closely with various departments, ensuring that the inventory data is accurate and up-to-date, and that the related information systems are functioning seamlessly. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex data sets. Candidates must demonstrate experience in managing inventory systems and have a solid understanding of management information systems (MIS).


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain inventory management and MIS protocols for efficient operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstock or stockout situations effectively.
  • Coordinate with various departments to align inventory supply with business needs.
  • Analyze inventory data for discrepancies and resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Implement and monitor systems to track inventory levels, orders, and deliveries.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory levels and trends for senior management.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping in inventory management systems.
  • Develop and provide training to staff on inventory management systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to maintain and upgrade MIS applications and tools regularly.
  • Identify opportunities for improving efficiency in inventory management and MIS operations.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management related to inventory purchases.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards in inventory management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in MIS and inventory management roles.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and databases is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail are essential for success.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively.
