Job Description

A Landscape Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and executing a variety of landscaping projects from inception to completion. They are responsible for all aspects of project management, including planning, budgeting, execution, and evaluation of landscape projects. This role requires a unique blend of design vision, leadership, and technical expertise to ensure that projects meet client expectations while staying within budget and time constraints. The Landscape Project Manager works closely with clients, architects, subcontractors, and team members to deliver high-quality landscapes that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. This position demands a strong knowledge of horticulture, construction techniques, and project management principles.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans and construction documents for landscape projects.
  • Estimate project budgets and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and team members during project implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project goals and expectations.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure project milestones are achieved as planned.
  • Address and resolve any project delays, emergencies, or issues that arise.
  • Maintain project documentation and prepare status reports for stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met throughout all phases of the project.
  • Source and procure materials required for landscape construction and installation.
  • Implement sustainable landscaping practices wherever possible within projects.
  • Facilitate team meetings to ensure alignment on project timelines and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, project management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale landscape or construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of landscaping principles, design, and construction techniques.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools such as MS Project.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and teams.
  • Ability to interpret technical designs and specifications accurately and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected challenges.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) is considered an asset.
