HSE Officer

The HSE Officer is responsible for promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace by implementing effective health, safety, and environmental programs. The role ensures all organizational activities align with local regulations and industry standards, while actively monitoring and minimizing risks. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of safety protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to train and guide teams on HSE best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections across worksites.

• Ensure compliance with local HSE laws and international standards.

• Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs.

• Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.

• Deliver training sessions on safety awareness and emergency response.

• Monitor and audit safety performance metrics regularly.

• Maintain safety equipment and ensure proper use of PPE.

• Prepare and submit regulatory compliance documentation as required.

• Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits or inspections.

• Promote a safety-first culture across departments and projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in industrial or construction settings.

• NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent safety certification is mandatory.

• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards.

• Strong understanding of local labor and HSE regulations.

• Excellent communication and training delivery skills.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

• Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing.

• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications are a plus.
