Job Description

A Field Service Engineer is a critical and dynamic role within the engineering and technology industries, responsible for serving and supporting clients by providing onsite technical services and expertise. This position involves frequent travel to various locations to install, repair, and maintain equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and functionality. The Field Service Engineer must possess technical proficiency and the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, often under time-sensitive conditions. Communication and customer service skills are paramount, as Field Service Engineers frequently interface with clients, providing guidance, updates, and training. This role demands a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. Candidates for this role should be adaptable, capable of working independently, and possess the necessary technical qualifications to excel in a high-pressure environment.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct installation, calibration, and commissioning of new equipment and systems for clients.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and preventive care on a wide range of machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and provide efficient solutions.
  • Deliver technical support and training to customers on equipment usage and care.
  • Document service visits, including observations, resolutions, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance product functionality and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls and maintenance activities completed.
  • Advise customers on potential system upgrades and additional products that may benefit them.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and industry regulations during service work.
  • Manage inventory of service parts and tools, reporting needs and usage accurately.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Prepare and submit detailed service reports to management and clients regularly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field required.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a similar field service engineering role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Ability to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice, as job demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic, test, and repair tools in a technical field.
