Job Description

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with environmental regulations. In this role, you will develop, implement, and monitor safety programs to ensure that workplace environments are free from safety hazards. You will also work closely with management and employees to drive safety awareness and cultivate a culture of zero harm. The HSE Engineer is expected to stay updated with federal, state, and local regulations and to ensure that these are consistently adhered to. This position not only requires technical expertise but also excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and respond proactively to HSE issues.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures company-wide.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on workplace health and safety statistics regularly.
  • Coordinate with management for continuous improvement of HSE practices.
  • Provide training sessions to employees regarding safety and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with all health and safety laws and regulations consistently.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, proposing corrective actions promptly.
  • Manage HSE documentation and ensure all records are current and accessible.
  • Support the development of emergency response and preparedness plans.
  • Liaise with external authorities regarding HSE matters and compliance issues.
  • Promote a culture focused on proactive safety solutions and zero harm goals.
  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement ergonomic workplace solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in HSE roles within an industrial setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HSE regulations and standards is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct effective training sessions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact at all levels.
  • Proficiency with HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
