Job Description

As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the cash flow of our organization by overseeing the credit management process. You will be responsible for ensuring timely collection of payments from clients while maintaining a positive relationship with them. Your role will include assessing creditworthiness, setting credit limits, and utilizing financial data to minimize risk and maximize profits. By monitoring credit transactions and collaborating with internal teams, you will ensure compliance with company policies and optimize account receivables. Your expertise will directly contribute to safeguarding our financial health and enhancing our profitability through efficient credit control strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Assess the creditworthiness of existing and prospective clients to minimize risk exposure.
  • Establish appropriate credit limits by analyzing financial data and payment history.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and ensure timely collection of overdue payments.
  • Develop and implement effective credit control strategies to optimize cash flow.
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions and collections.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance teams to resolve customer billing issues promptly.
  • Prepare detailed aging reports to track outstanding payments and forecast cash flow.
  • Negotiate payment plans and credit terms with customers to manage accounts efficiently.
  • Respond to client queries regarding invoices and account statements in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations related to credit control.
  • Identify and report potential bad debts and escalate collection issues when necessary.
  • Provide monthly reports on credit control activities and performance to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Proven work experience as a credit controller or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of credit management and financial analysis techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to handle client interactions.
  • Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
