Job Description

As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. You will be responsible for evaluating the efficiency of controls and improving them continuously. Additionally, you will have the responsibility of managing the compliance program, educating employees on industry standards, and monitoring adherence to regulations. Your goal is to ensure we meet all financial and compliance obligations, thus maintaining the company's lawful integrity and providing guidance on compliance matters. You will work cross-departmentally to ensure all business operations and procedures comply with legal regulations and internal policies.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously to ensure compliance.
  • Revise procedures, reports, and policies on an ongoing basis to identify hidden risks or common issues.
  • Craft, modify, and implement company policies to facilitate a compliance strategy.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
  • Assess the business's future ventures to identify possible compliance risks or issues.
  • Review and monitor employees’ adherence to set regulations and advise accordingly.
  • Coordinate with different departments to further compliance-related goals and initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as required.
  • Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices to ensure constant compliance.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Stay abreast of current industry trends and changes in laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or in a similar role within compliance.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and controls, particularly within the given industry.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards in compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively educate and collaborate.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for thorough investigations and reporting.
