The BIM Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of building projects by managing and supervising Building Information Modeling processes. As the intersection between technology, architecture, and construction, the BIM Coordinator ensures the seamless integration of digital design tools into project workflows. This role involves substantial collaboration and coordination with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure that detailed and accurate 3D models are developed and maintained throughout the project's lifecycle. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the BIM process across multiple project phases and stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain BIM execution plans for various projects.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure high-quality BIM integration.
  • Facilitate and participate in coordination meetings to resolve any modeling conflicts.
  • Ensure models are developed in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Train and guide project teams on BIM protocols and best practices.
  • Monitor the BIM model's integrity and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for BIM software and applications.
  • Collaborate with IT departments to manage and update BIM software and hardware.
  • Continuously evaluate new BIM technologies and processes to recommend improvements.
  • Generate and export project data and information from BIM models for various deliverables.
  • Ensure all project documentation is consistently updated and stored in an accessible manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a BIM-focused role in construction.
  • Strong proficiency in BIM software, such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication skills to lead effective cross-disciplinary team presentations.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively under deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for building design and construction.
  • Experience in model-based quantity take-off and construction estimating processes.
