Environmental Specialist

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with experience of 15 years.
  • Certified Environmental Engineer or other relevant certifications preferred .
  • Design, review, and oversee the environmental management measures with the intent of reducing all potential environmental impacts to ALARP
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations (e.g., MARPOL, IPPC, EPA, OSPAR, OSHA,ISO14001), and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documentation and reports as required by local and international authorities.
  • Manage environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Prepare reports for authorities, including environmental assessments and permit applications, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks, project scopes, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Provide support in liaising with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders for environmental authorization and approval processes.
  • Identify and manage significant environmental aspects of projects, proposing sound actions and design solutions to mitigate adverse impacts to acceptable levels.
  • Extensive experience in conducting Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and developing Environmental Management Plans (EMP) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Proficient in environmental screening, scoping, and Environmental Impact Identification (ENVID) activities, along with risk assessments.
  • Skilled in air pollution dispersion modeling and noise modeling studies.
  • Expertise in developing spill prevention and control plans, contingency plans, and emergency response plans.
  • Experienced in preparing fugitive and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions estimation summary reports.
  • Proficient in using AERMOD, CALPUFF, SOUNDPLAN, or equivalent software for environmental assessments.
  • Strong understanding of noise and vibration control requirements, including on-site measurement techniques
  • Previous experience in environmental engineering, particularly in Offshore oil & gas projects ( at least 5 years).
