Salary Range: 32,000 AED to 34,000 AED Monthly



Aeronautical Information Management Operation

  • sManage Aeronautical Information and updates to Aeronautical Information Package consisting of AIP/AIP Amendments, AIP Supplements and AIC
  • .Provision of the Aeronautical Information adequately, accurately and in a timely manner for use by the national and international aviation industry
  • .Collate, evaluate, coordinate, verify and correct data received from Data originators to ensure accurate information is disseminated
  • .Implement and use the latest standards and technology solutions in AIM to meet international quality standards

.Notifications to Airmen (NOTAM

  • )Evaluate and ensure the accurate and timely transformation of NOTAM information critical to air navigation operations into the relevant part of the Aeronautical Information Package

.Document Managemen

  • tStore and maintain accurate records of aeronautical information sources for traceability and legal requirements including submissions, evaluations, coordination and approvals
  • .Ensure the correct application of ICAO and National Regulatory Documentation by maintaining proper references to Document library

.Aeronautical dat

  • aEncode received aeronautical information and data into AIXM format (Aeronautical Information Exchange Model) for global interoperability
  • .Maintain aeronautical data for entire UAE in the centralized AIXM based database
  • .Ensure the continuous accuracy, quality and integrity of aeronautical data in the database

.Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedure

  • sDevelop and maintain AIM business processes and KPIs related to aeronautical information management
  • .Develop and/or provide input to various systems, including requirements and specifications e.g.
  • :AIM System which includes AIXM Database, XML-based electronic AIP editor, electronic document management system, SWIM platform (System Wide Information Management
  • )Aeronautical information communication recording and management syste
  • mElectronic Content Management syste
  • mGCAA e-services and websit

eSoftware upgrades/modification

  • sParticipate in AIM systems software upgrades
  • .Test the upgrade thoroughly to ensure that there will be no impact on AIM operations.
  • Report system bugs with full and proper evidence.
  • Ensure that acceptable work-around solutions can be implemented to ensure continuous AIM operations
  • .Follow-up on reported bugs for permanent solutions

.Research and Investigatio

  • nConduct thorough research for the verification of provided aeronautical data and information
  • .Research other state publications to establish a benchmark and ensure that aeronautical information is provided at high standards
  • .Record and investigate aeronautical information related queries received to ensure the correctness of the query and prepare adequate corrective action plans

.Quality, Health, Safety and Environment within GCA

  • AEnsure compliance with all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards

.Continuous Improvemen

  • tIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

.Other Dutie

  • sCollect and provide department requirements for budgetary planning
  • .Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments
  • .Conduct quality checks on aeronautical information
  • .Provide documentary evidence during audits as and when required

.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • :Degree in a technical field relevant to aviation or specific relevant courses and certifications in navigation, charting or IT with a 3 - 5 years’ experience in a relevant environment
  • .Knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices with particular reference to AIM, Aeronautical Charting, Air Traffic Services and Instrument Procedure Design is preferre

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) was created in 1996 by Federal Cabinet Decree (Law 4) to regulate Civil Aviation and provide designated aviation services with emphasis on safety and security and to strengthen the aviation industry within the UAE and its upper airspace. The main office is located in Abu Dhabi and the regional office is located in Dubai to serve the northern Emirates.The GCAA, which is the sole authority for the control and regulation of civil aviation in the UAE, is responsible for the provision of en-route air navigation services and all aspects of flight safety. In late 2009, the GCAA opened its new Air Navigation Centre, The Sheikh Zayed Centre, which is considered the largest and busiest air traffic management facility in the Middle East as well as one of the world’s most technically advanced centres in terms of its design. The United Arab Emirates, represented by GCAA, is an active member of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and its specialized committees. It is also a member of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission (ACAC) Executive Council, and currently H.E Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA.
